"Per tool" filament usage (MMU2S) in Prusaslicer?

Is there a way to show how much filament will be used by each tool when using the MMU? I would like to get an idea how much PVA support material I need for a print and cut that much off the spool to minimize it exposure to the open air. (This is my first attempt at printing with soluble supports on this machine).

Thanks!

Shameless plug - save yourself the hassle and make a simple drybox you can keep your PVA in. That way there's less waste if you over or underestimate how much to cut (the slicer isn't perfect...). It should keep it sufficiently dry for the duration of the print and only the bit that's passed through the MMU has any significant exposure to ambient air:

Thanks - I have been considering doing something like this, but I was actually looking at a box big enough to hold all 5 spools needed for the MMU.  I have a set of filament rewinders already made that are currently mounted to the top of my Lack enclosure.

I found the box you referenced on amazon, but it looks like they are now $16 each.

I might have to look and see if there is a way to adapt your concept to work with my rewinders.

This is the rewinder I am currently using:

I initially had a 5-spool box as well but it was very annoying to open it and change out one filament every time. Shame the price of the small box went up...

The rewinder you linked appears to have similar axle dimensions; if the base rewinder isn't wider than the box you could probably use some of my parts and cut the axle down to size using the split part tool in PS.

Maybe I will order one of the boxes and see if I can adapt my spool hub and axle to fit.  I need to look over the parts in your collection on prusaprinters.  I should be able to print just the mounts, right?

Yes - you'd use everything besides the axle, which you can adapt to your spool re-winder setup.

Here is my take on a low cost, easy access dry/buffer box that fits all 5 spools:

I ended up printing the axles and holders for the Sistema box, and it looks like it is a good fit with the rewinders I am using (I think they were a remix of the same one you were using).  So I have an amazon order due to deliver a single box on Thursday, and I am printing an additional self contained rewinder for this box now.

I just realized that the "Base" model in your files must be the base for the box so it stands up straight, correct?  I still need to print that and the fittings for the tubing and tubing quick-connects.

Thanks!  This might be a nice option for the future if I want to put all of the spools in a dry-box.  Will these all fit across the width of the Lack enclosure (5-wide)?

@mgoblue

Correct- the base is so the box will sit vertically. You can fit 4 wide across the width of a lack table, so in theory up to 8 could be stacked on top of the lack enclosure in 2 rows. (I keep mine on the second shelf of a 3-lack stack, with the printer in the top one.)
