Parametric Design - Editing in Slicer

Hello,

I'm learning Fusion 360 and parametric design. I have one design where I would need to print a number of times with small adjustments to the parameters. Is it possible to change the parameters in Slicer or do I need to go through the  fusion -> slicer -> printer process every time.

Thanks!

I don't know what small adjustments to the parameters you'll be making, but Slicer is a 3D printing preparation tool, not a 3D modeling tool.

Most likely you will be doing your adjustments in your modeling Program. Slicer does have a "Reload from disk" and a "Replace with STL" feature that could potentially help you.

Thanks for the response. I'm making a simple push lock key. The end looks like a set of fingers similar if you traced your hand onto some paper. I need to adjust the finger lengths which I have set as parameters. This is the only part of the design I'm changing so I was hoping to eliminate the fusion 360 step on each change.

Your need sounds fairly simple and straight forward, and while you could do some adjustments using negative volumes in slicer to that end, please trust me, you will be much happier doing it in Fusion, and exporting it again after the changes. From the sound of it your project could be a candidate for "Reload from disk" or a "Replace with STL" after you export the part with the new parameters. sports may still be an issue if you were needing them.

Prusa Slicer can be run from the command line so if your design parameter changes can be scripted it might be possible to run a large batch programmatically, piping each new output through slicer so that user input is minimal.

Cheerio,

Thanks for the answers. Looks like I need to update my work flow. Again thanks for the ideas.
