Paint on support starts in the air

Hi,

I am trying to slice an excavator bucket from Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:638685.

In order to reduce support material, I put the bucket on its back and added paint-on supports: "Autoset by angle", "45°", then "Enforce". This will add supports under the teeth of the bucket (left side of the bucket):

But if I look closely on the result after slicing, the supports for the teeth start in the air and not on the bucket (top left side - there is a visible gap between the green support and the orange bucket):

Is paint-on support, that starts in the object itself, not supported?

Actually, I want to do this with MMU2S and BOVH with the profile "SOLUBLE INTERFACE". But even in this mode, the slicer does not start with Extruder 5 (= BOVH) when it places the support onto the bucket (no "green" between the bucket and support on the top left side):

I attached the 3mf file: excavator

How can I slice this bucket with BOVH correctly?

Regards,
Martin
