Paint on Fuzz Question

Hi all, in 2.9.2, how can I control the parameters for paint on fuzz.  The default appears to be thickness of 0.3, fuzz point distance of 0.8.

I like 0.1 and 0.1 for one project.  How do I do that with paint on fuzz?

Thanks!

John

RE: Paint on Fuzz Question

I've found how you can change the fuzz parameters. You need to add the fuzz parameters to the object or a modifier on the object. Here is a demonstration with pictures (click on the picture thumbnails to see the full image).

I'm using the low-poly bunny from the PrusaSlicer gallery. I've painted fuzz as a sweater:

In the model tree on the right of PrusaSlicer, right click on the editing icon for the object:

Select add settings/fuzzy skin:

Select the two parameter settings and click OK:

Here the parameters are available to change with the values from the current print settings:

And this is what the sliced bunny looks like:

Now I change the values for the settings to your suggested 0.1 & 0.1:

And this is the slice with the new values:

Now we can be clever and selectively apply the finer fuzzy skin parameters only to an area on the object with mesh modifiers. I chose to use text (but any modifier shape can be used). I then apply the finer fuzzy skin parameters to only the text. The object tree will look like this:

And the sliced bunny looks like this:

Yes, it is subtle using text (I used a Black font variant here), but imagine branding something with your SVG logo in different fuzzy skin densities.

If you want to play with these settings or take apart exactly how I did this, here is the 3mf of the final bunny: FuzzyBunnyTesting
