Paint on color (extruders) not extending into the model
Hi all. I am having an issue with a model that I have painted on colors and the painted on parts are not extending into the body of the print, so the parts are printing in a super weak way. Can anyone help me out here?
I have tried changing infill %, perimeters, top/bot layers, etc. and nothing has changed it.

Save the settings as a Project, Zip the .3mf file,
and post this Zipped project on here for us to try and help!

Thanks! I tried uploading the 3mf directly. I didn't think to zip it first. Here is the file:

Hi Sluggles.
Unfortunately Painting, seems to isolate the steps, from the ring. as you found out.
If I was making this model, I would create it in two sets,
Set 1, Whole model
Set 2 Model minus the ring, with the internal parts long enough to penetrate the Ring
I would load the set 1 (Whole Model) into prusa slicer
then I Would right click on the main model, in slicer, and choose 'Add Modifier>Load' and choose Set 2 the internal parts,
In Slicer I would Allocate the main part to the preferred colour, and Allocate the modifier to the other colour.
I have added the two sets and the 3mf file, below
You could cut the rebates for the inner parts, in your 3D modelling program and then embed the inner parts as a second part in Slicer... but I feel that's more effort...

Thanks! I will give this a try. Thank you for responding.

The painter has a more difficult time with thin objects because there's less room to play with. But you can try out the "Maximum width of a segmented region" parameter to limit how far colors penetrate into the main model. In your case you'd be using it to limit orange so the main model still has meat within each spur. For this specific case it seems like you'd want to stay around 2 perimeters which is ~1mm to keep as much blue in each spur. Downside to very small areas like that is they tend to look worse.

This worked! Thank you for setting this up for me.
Obviously, this didn't solve the issue of it not working automatically in the slicer, but it worked for my print needs!

Changing Slicer performance would need a request on Prusa Slicer Git Hub.
