Overstacking of first layer support

I planned to print a part 4 times, multiplied it by 4 and auto arranged them. While printing I realized, the first layer support structure raft is in some areas double printed/extruded into each other at the same layer height, resulting in over extrusion. It's no big deal since its the support, but I don't know if its intended this way.

If needed i can upload the project files and gcode too.

RE: Overstacking of first layer support

In the upcoming PrusaSlicer version 2.3.0 RC3, it is possible to specify the distance between parts when using auto arrange. Setting a larger distance will avoid the collision of rafts.

You can report the problem at GitHub as an issue here, this way the developers at Prusa will see the problem and it gets registered.

Have a look at my models on Printables.com 😉

RE: Overstacking of first layer support

This 'issue' has been reported numerous times on github.  Its one of those VERY long standing ones.  Its down to how PS treats every object as individual (which is why different objects can have different layer heights etc).

You can even overlap models too and get the same issue.  DONT though as that would be BAD.  2x the volume of plastic into 1x the area does not proceed well.  Its just one of those things to be aware of.

Github issue numbers (there are probably more that my quick search didnt find)
