outer seam not aligned

I think since the upgrade from prusaslicer 2.4 to 2.5, when slicing a cupholder i sliced and printed many times, the outer seam is not aligned anymore.

Same settings i always used. Tried all other seam settings too with no success. Hoped this would be fixed with 2.6 but its not.

Anyone has the same problem?

Best to upload the zip-compressed 3mf project file here. Otherwise everything is just speculation. The 3mf contains the STL model *AND* all your settings. Having said that, I haven't seen any difference. The seams seem to be as good —or rather, bad—as always.

Lots and lots of people have the problem.  For example https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/8841 or https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/8512 or https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/8443

Basically go to the github project and just look for the seam tag.  Many many issues raised both open and closed.  2.4 was the last version where you could get a nice straight seam in.  They changed the way they were done in 2.5.  Its not viewed as a 'problem' though it seems.

Thanks. This the exact problem I have. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem and i hope there will come a solution.

RE: outer seam not aligned

I wouldn't be holding my breath. I do appreciate that some of the new features, like advanced cutting or placing text, may be useful for certain users. But it is beginning to bug me that some basic issues--such as this one, the lack of straight line painting, better brims, the infamous buldge, etc-- just don't seem to be getting any attention.

I'd prefer a "tick tock" release approach. One release cycle focused on new features, the next on improving the basics, and so on.

I'd have to agree with all of that @fuchsr.  Doing shiny new stuff is great but there have been many long standing issues that just seem to be ignored.  Even some of what should be low hanging fruit to fix easily like the remembering visualisation settings on the slice preview have been around far too long.

I know when we are developing, stuff that's quick and easy to fix gets included in the next release cycle purely because it IS easy and it reduces the backlog of open issues.

I agree, it is just that I feel I can hardly explain with an overall still well performing tool which is offered for free.

I am happy that they brought the support features up to par, with snugg supports being an easy option, just as well as paint on supports. The Brim options are not great though and I don't think it would be too difficult to implement an option like "paint on brim" or maybe something like "brims only on outer corners".
