Odd graphics display issue with negative volume text

The part of the left is a mirrored version of the one on the right (mirrored in PrusaSlicer). I then added negative volume text to it to match placement of the part on the right. Everything looked good. I saved the file.

Today, when I opened the file, the text is "gone" (as shown above). It is still there, but only visible at specific angles. No, the text is not below the surface in the advanced settings of the text. The sliced view shows the text fine (see below).

But if I try to move or reposition the text, it goes crazy. Like height changes, rotation angles are super wonky, etc. I have tried deleting the text and placing new. I have tried mirroring the original part again. Nothing seems to be working. I have also restarted PrusaSlicer. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Separately, I tried posting in the forum from Chrome and tried to access Prusa Chat, neither seem to work on Chrome today. Is there some server issue going on?

OK, so I figured out a workaround for anyone experiencing a similar issue. It appears that the issue stems from mirroring a part in the slicer.

If you mirror a part with text on it, the text is mirrored (as expected). However, manipulating the text modifier after it has been mirrored is next to impossible as the height and rotation becomes problematic. If you delete the text and add new text, it appears to work better, but still is wonky at times and seems like it can easily become just as problematic as trying to modify mirrored text.

The workaround I found is that you have to delete the text from the part BEFORE mirroring it. Then, add the text to the mirrored part. This still doesn't explain the weird display issues that I am seeing on the mirrored part that weren't there before saving and closing PrusaSlicer. However, when I follow this workaround, I have not seen the graphic display issues resurface with the new mirrored part (even after saving, closing, and reopening PrusaSlicer).

Hopefully the PrusaSlicer Dev team can take a closer look at what is behind this issue and get it fixed in an upcoming release. And hopefully this post helps others who might encounter this issue.

Not surprising, there are several issues related to mirroring on the PS github, for example this one for painted areas https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/11370   or this one for mirrored duplicates https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/9663

There are also multiple relating to the text tool, I'm just surprised it hasn't crashed on you as that seems quite common with text tool issues.

Don't think anyone has reported this specifically though so you could add a new one.  It may get fixed sometime this decade.  Or not.
