Not slicing a point very well.

In the 2 photos above I have the sliced and unsliced versions of my part. Why is the point not appearing on the sliced version? I don't need it to be sharp but definitely pointier than this.

This is using the default Prusaslicer 2.3.1 with the default Prusa mini 0.1mm DETAIL profile.

Thanks,

Ethan

Not to put a fine point on it: your point is too fine...

Slide the layers view and you can see what's happening:

The slicer continues until the thickness of the part is less than that of the extruded filament, the default with a 0.4mm nozzle is about 0.45mm ... to go finer you need a narrower nozzle.

Cheerio,

For questions like this, it's always a good idea to upload a copy of the 3mf project, which contains both the STL and all your settings. The forum software doesn't accept .3mf uploads, so you have to zip it and upload the .zip file.

Sticky this?

Excuse me for butting in.  Do you think it would be possible to "pin" / make a sticky thread that includes instructions on uploading .3mf files and any other useful things to upload on first post?  I ask because you're a prominent member 🙂

Makes sense

Sure, but this also assumes people actually read Stickies...

Considering that many (most?) questions posed here could have been answered by a simple Google search, I doubt that assumption very much.

Sorry, couldn't keep my cynical side from coming through....

Oh, I guess I'm a "prominent" member—whatever that means—, but I think you need to be a moderator of the forum to pin topics to the top.
