Multimaterial without wipetower
Hello,
Just got my first Prusa printer, its a Core One with MMU3 and i currently got a theoretical question, but might be a thing anyway.
Say if i print a 100mm high model where i just want to change color on topmost 2 layers (lets say for text). Would there be any solution to change color/material without bringing a wipetower with it up and wasting that material
I know there is a possibility to change filament manually, but i think thats hard to time correctly.
(Other printers have their pooping to solve this)
RE: Multimaterial without wipetower
I print labels face down when I can.
Viking Grace was printed face down
Magpie was actually printed face down using manual colourchanges not mmu3, it's o.8mm thick
Printing face down reduces the waste immensely
set single perimeter for the face layer whether you print face up, or face down

RE: Multimaterial without wipetower
Great tip!
When first reading it before the pictures loaded i were somewhat confused, but how did you manage to print Viking Grace without wipingtower? How did you manage purging, in infill?
RE: Multimaterial without wipetower
The Viking grace lable is an insert on the base the text is 5 layers thick, could probably have got away with 2 or 3 layers
I did actually use a purge block but it was very thin
