The attached file (link above) shows two parts: pole, and fillhor. Print to be done on XL-5TH.

pole is intended to be the surviving print part printed in PETG, with two slits (one vertical and one horizontal).
The vertical slit does not require any support.
The horizontal slit requires support, in the shape of fillhor - which I want to print in PLA for easy removal.

There is stock-standard snug support in PETG with a PLA interface under the rod and sphere. All set up and ready to print, no problem here.

The problem arise with the horizontal slit support.
We can load the two STLs as a single object with two parts, thanks Prusa!
We can set pole to be PETG by selecting the appropriate toolhead (default or 1)
We can set fillhor to be PLA by selecting the appropriate toolhead (2)
We can slice and nicely see the two parts in the appropriate selected material.

The problem is that the slicer sees the two parts as a single object, with no outer perimeter in the pole part, inside the slit. As you gcode up and down the infill pattern remains, only the material changes, according to the part.

What I would like to see is, if the PLA sacrificial part is removed, both the sacrificial  part and surviving part must have outer perimeters where they touch.

So in a way these two should be separate parts, each with their own outer perimeters.  I tried to load the two as separate parts, carefully placing them, but was unable to avoid a gcode collision error warning.

Is there a way that I can print the sacrificial part such that where it touches the surviving part,  the surviving part will have an outer perimeter?
Essentially I want to do this but print in place.

Turning on Interface Shells will get you the perimeters you're looking for

but this part sounds to me like the reason you're not getting perimeters in the first place (you should be) is because the two parts are in fact overlapped/colliding even if just the smallest amount. So the 'real fix' would be done in CAD by adding some clearance between the two parts. I'd even suggest adding some x-y clearance too because you may otherwise get some zipper-y overlap between the two materials making it even more difficult to remove.

There are sooooo many settings.

Suddenly my decision for the XL purchase has been vindicated! 

Thanks also for the zip lock hint, will leave some space in the model.
