Multimaterial painted part has strange layer

The problem is a little difficult to describe so this video explains it best.

You can see as I toggle between the two layers the first top layer for the white is filled in. On the 9 and 6 tiles this correctly goes around the cut hearts, but for some reason on the 4 tile it lays down a layer of white. It only does this for one layer, subsequent layers on the 4 tile are the correct color, but I'm not sure why the slicer is doing it. All the hearts are cut at the same depth (.4mm) so I don't entirely understand why it's happening to some of the objects but not the others.

Could be a bug in the painting tool but have you done an netfabb autorepair with the underyling object? I can't open the file right now to check myself but even if it does not show an error sign, it can't hurt doing that.

Thanks for your reply, I did try the Prusaslicer repair, but that didn't change anything. I don't have netfabb, I could try it.

RE:

I was referring to the repair by Prusa Slicer, I think it is based on the netfabb alogorithm or so. But if that did nto change anything I would guess it is a bug of the painting tool. If you struggle to get rid of that error there is still the option of doing it the old school way, By using meshmixer or blender and boolean operations (cutting out the inlet from the base and having the two colours as different objects.

Yes that's not a bad idea, it also gives me more control over how deep the color goes. I'll have to mess with it a little.
