Move infill pattern horizontally
Hi,
I try to use infill inside a wing to add it a little bit more of support.
You can see the effect with 3% grid infill on the attached picture.
Now I would like the crosses to be somehow inside the empty spaces instead of merging with existing support elements.
Beeing able to force the infill pattern to "move" slightly to the right or left would do the trick.
Is it possible to adjust / move / set the origin point of the pattern exlicitely?

My first attempt would be to set up the object with zero infill, and then use mesh modifiers to put the infill exactly where you want it. I don't have much confidence in the results as I don't think there is a way to manually define where the origin of the infill pattern is. But I could be wrong, and it might be worth it for you to try to see what the slice preview looks like.

I already tried that. You can have multiple modifiers but they all seem to only control some kind of one "global instance" of the pattern.
They only define specific volume where this pattern should be "visible".
As a result those crosses from attached image are always at the same spots relative to the object itself.

Why not just modify the model to put support braces where you want and print with no support ?

Because it is not my model. I only have STL files and infill ist the quick and obvious way without any effort.

try this?
the green bits are modifiers, resize / rotate / move as required, move where you like set up as line infill 100%
