MK3S and UPS - Disconnection

Hi there,

I hope everyone is doing well !

I have three printers : Prusa MK3s, Prusa Mini+ and Artillery Sidewinder X1. All of them are plugged on a UPS, as where I am living there are frequent power cuts.

It happens that if the three of them are printing simultaneously, in case of power cut, the prusa Mini and the Artillery keeps working as expected (it is a Line Advance UPS). However, the MK3s is stopping, and the panic message appears. This means that even if the disruption is less than 4ms (as the UPS is taking over within less than 4ms), the MK3s detects.

From your perspective, why is this the case ? What could I do ? (Maybe a kind of capacitor on the 24V slot of the Einsy card ?).

Thanks for your brilliant ides on this.

If you search the Mk3 specific forum section there are many existing threads on using a MK3 with a UPS.  As the forum search sucks try using google with "site: forum.prusa3d.com ups"

Many will point out that the power panic will still trigger with many UPS systems which is why correct choice of a suitable UPS matters when running a MK3.  You could always disable the power panic function.  iirc thats a single wire.
