Love prusaslicer's cost calculation feature, but something is way off.
Hey folks, I ordered my MK3S+ on black friday, and as soon as I got back from vacation my two boys and I set it up. We've been printing up a storm ever since.
One neat feature in the slicer is where it shows you the "cost" per print. I love this feature, but have noticed it is way off.
For example, we printed two objects. Which we measured with a food scale when complete:
- Low Poly Mew (pokemon) - Measured weight 95g. - prusaslicer estimate ~$4.30
- Collapsing Katana - Measured weight 125g - prusaslicer estimate ~ $4.00
My cocktail napkin math has both "costing" significantly less and certainly the heavier object should cost more.
I have prusaslicer set at the out of the box cost of $30.24 (which is close to what we paid for prusament). I didn't mess with density or other settings. While I get that the estimate may be off from reality... prusaslicer certainly has enough info to know that the lighter "mew" should cost less than the heavier "katana."
What am I doing wrong? Or is there a bug in the software?

Or is the cost calculated by the amount of filament used?

I'm brand new to this, so I'm pretty certain I'm being stupid... but I assumed since the only two variables I can enter are cost/kg and density, it is making some kind of estimate based on volume printed.
Assuming the filament has a consistent density (which it must be assuming in the software) then the volume should be proportional to the mass I weigh. I'd think. Maybe I'm missing something fundamental though.
