Looking for help in a file on the slicer, anyone have the knowledge to assist me?
I have a file Ifrom Printables that I modified abit. It sthe hooks.
I am putting my kids names on the front of the hook and I want to know if it is possible to print the whole object in one color then have their names in another color.
The issue I am attempting to overcome is there is a flat section for their name but on the right side of the hook face it is higher than the flat section, so inthe slicer I have their names in different colors but it will also print the ridge on the right in the color of their name instead of the case color of the hook itself.
Is there a way to print the entire object with the higher ridge then have the printer just write the name in the different color even though it is slightly lower than the right?
I included the file.
Really appreciate the help! Thank you

there are a number of ways to achieve two colour prints, you have already discounted the layer height option and the fact that you are asking, probably means you don't have MMU or multi extruder capability.
the way I used to do this, was using 'virtual extruders' in Prusa slicer
I don't know which printer version you have, so I am guessing Mk4. (this will work with most 3d printers that use 'M600' for filament change)
I opened Prusa Slicer 2.9.2 (because that is the version loaded on this pc)
Selected Prusa Mk4 (0.4mm nozzle)
In the 'Printers > General' tab, I increased the number of extruders to '2'
and then I added M600 to the 'Printers > Custom Gcode > Tool Change > Gcode' Text Box (this causes filament change messages)
you didn't include any models, so I made a simple tag with a raised edge and embedded text
there are two STL's Dad Back.stl and Dad Text.stl (Dad Text, stl is only 0.4mm thick)
I loaded Dad Back.STL into Prusa Slicer, then right clicked on that part, and chose Add part > Load
and chose Dad Text.stl. (this caused the text to be automatically loaded to where I planned it to be (Sunk 0.4mm into the surface of the main back part))
I allocated the main back part to extruder 1 and the text to extruder 2 (the Mk4 printer only has one extruder so we are treating the 2 extruders as 'Virtual' extruders
I chose 0.2mm layerheight for the slicer, this has the benefit that it will allow the text to print in two layers (this saves filament changes later on) the printer will start as normal, heat up, clean the nozzle, do mesh bed levelling, and then immediately request a filament change... (Bit of a bore... just go with the flow at this stage)
once you have the filament changed, the printer will print up to the bottom side of the Text where it will leave a space for the text, and request a filament change, Follow the filament change messages again, and the printer will eject some waste filament, (don't pull this off, just hold on to it, then answer yes, when asked if the purged colour is 'clear') 'Clear' relates to the old colour being purged by the new colour...
Anyway, because you took note and held onto the waste filament, you will be rewarded by the fact that as the extruder moves back to the print, the extra spurt of filament will remain attached to the waste material that you are holding (otherwise, chase the waste material at your leisure)
the printer will complete two layers (0.4mm) and then request a change back to the first colour (Same process) and the print should complete. including the raised edge above text height
(if you make the text thicker than two layers, you will have to do more filament changes) ns the result!
hopefully this will help you with your quest!

RE:
@ supercwdad
I'm not seeing the File you posted, it needs to be Zipped up in .zip format in order for you to post here. as well would be very helpful to resolve your issue. aside from this we are only guessing what may help.

Wow! Thank you for helping me out with such a detailed response, I truly appreciate your assistance!
Here is the .stl I was working on as well.
You rock!
I also made an error, I made the print larger to 200% When I did that I forgot to consider the holes in the back. They are the made to fit a screw head perfectly. since I do not yet know CAD,(I am learning now) to make the object 200% but retein the original hole size I was considering making a washer that is shaped the size of the bigger hole, I guess it would be easier to just reprint the original at 200% after thinking about it.
How would one go about keeping the hole size the same?
Or in your expertise what would be the easiest solution to overcome this issue?
I included both files. Thank you again!

Sorry, still can't see the files.
they MUST be Zip compressed, or the Forum will just quietly drop the files!
