Is there an equivelent of the 'alternate extra wall' setting from Cura in Prusaslicer?

Hi, I'm coming from Cura to Prusaslicer, and I really like it so far, the GUI especially I prefer in Prusaslicer.

However I quite like the 'alternate extra wall' in Cura, it helps the infill stick to the walls better, is there an equievelent settings in Prusaslicer?

thanks

At the moment the current Prusa Slicer (as of 2.2.0) does not support this.  However there is a fork of Prusa Slicer called Slic3r++ that does support that option (as well as many others).  Its available to download from https://github.com/supermerill/Slic3r/releases   The latest build is Windows only as theres an issue with the Mac build but I think the option has been in there for at least a few versions back.

Slic3r++ lays out the options slightly differently to Prusa Slicer but the vast majority of the program looks and works just like Prusa Slicer due to it being built on it.  The option you want is under Print Settings>Perimeters & Shell>Quality - there are two tickboxes, one for fill gaps on sloping shells the other is extra perimeter on odd layers.

On windows you dont need to install it, you just extract it to a folder somewhere and run the .exe file.  It stores all its settings in its own folder so you can run both PS and ++ side by side.  Also if you export your config bundle from PS you can then import it into ++ and get all your profiles copied over easily.  You can also open saved PS projects (.3mf files), although theres a current bug where ones saved in ++ wont open in PS2.2.0 (but do in 2.1.1 for some reason).

Anyway I urge you to give it a go.

Not exactly. You can enable Print Settings->Infill->Advanced->Solid infill every X layers which will insert a full layer at the specified interval.

Thanks, this is the first time I've heard of this fork, and it looks good. I'm not running Windows however, but I've found the docs on how to build form source on Mac, so once XCode has finished installing I should be able to give it a try. 🙂
