Infill gnerated "outside" the object above the bottom layer
I am trying to print this cup-shaped object, with a solid bottom and hollow sides:
In Cura, it slices fine, but with Slic3r, it generates infill above the bottom layer. How do I turn this off?
Thanks!

Please attach your saved project file. It must be zipped into an archive for the forum to accept it. It’s very hard to diagnose anything without the project as there are so many variables.

How about "error in the model" as a first guess? Just because Cura can handle it, doesn't mean the model is okay.

I read your replies to other @fuchsr, so I knew to check the model before posting here ;^) I have a feeling that "error in model" is the "Have you tried turning it off and back on?" of 3D printing.
But I must have had some settings wrong. I don't know what it was, but I quit Slic3r and re-opened using all default settings and it sliced without the artifact.
Thanks very much for the replies.

Having zero top layers would also produce what you were looking at possibly.
fuchsr is right though, 99% of the 'slicer isnt slicing my model right' posts are down to faulty models. I normally use Blenders 3dprint tool to check them (and repair in a lot of cases).
PS isn't as adept at handling them as say Cura but the devs have commented on that fact and are looking at it, especially the OpenScad based common errors as there are so many of those posted.
RE: Infill generated "outside" the object above the bottom layer
Thanks @neophyl. I think having top layers off was probably what did it. I assumed the bottom was solid without infill, and top layers were putting an unwanted cap on another cylindrical piece I was doing, so I probably had them switched off for this.
appreciate your time and expertise.

@steveh
From my experience fixing my wife's computer problems I have to say that turning it on and off is usually the cure to its ills 😁😉😉😁
