There's a hex button in slicer that when clicked sets a color change at a layer.

M600 as described by @tim-2 works great if changing colors at the beginning of a layer is sufficient. There's also the option of "faking" an MMU by using a multi-extruder profile without an MMU and manually swapping filaments as needed. Works fine, as long as there's only a few swaps required over a small number of layers, otherwise it gets tiresome quickly. There's a couple of posts outlining this process in this forum. All - thanks for your help.  I did manage to find the hex button in the slicer and it said it put in the M600 but when I checked the Gcode it wasn't there.  I will try it again and if it is still a problem I'll just do the change manually - only one change and I designed it to be at a layer change.

I did look at various threads but it is difficult since many of them refer to PrusaControl which I thought was a different piece of software before discovering it was just the earlier version of the slicer.

You can always save your project as a 3mf file, zip it (required), and attach it to a post her, if you want us to check it.
