How to add brims to only certain Parts?

Hi guys,

I need to add a brim to the couple of studs in the top right corner (Not talking about necessity to do so). But say, I don't want to add brims to the all the other parts on the bed. Or, if I wanted to add brims to only the ends/corners of a more massive object to avoid warping, where could I change properties in PS 2.7.4 to reduce brims to only defined areas?

regards,  Ralf

select object,
right-click, scroll to bottom of menu > add settings.
choose: skirt and brim
select : brim type
now you can select: No brim

@ralfiboy1

If you can post a Zipped .3mf project file exported from prusaSlicer I may be able to help. The forums file server will only allow the file to be posted if its zipped.

I need the zipped up .3mf project file, not the g-code.

The project file is the file that produces the g-code. When you save a project in prusaslicer it saves as a .3mf

File menu>Save Project As. (name the file and save.)

RE:

This is the right kind of file, and you posted it ok, but it doesn't match the image you show in your first post. The studs that you circled in red are not on the bed. I thought that's what you wanted the brims around?

I know your new to this it's ok, we all had to started somewhere.

u're right, in the meantime I'm completely confused. attached the PS-file I'm printing just now, omiting the studs.

Any chance of You showing me the Way to do it myself?

The solution @eef provided earlier doesn't work, for I got no item "add settings" in the drop-down-menu when right-clicking an object (Yes, I swapped language to en)

You have to choose "Expert Mode" to see this.

swiching from "advanced Level" to "Expert" gives me the last lane + the chance to fix brims or not to single objects 😍 😍 😍

Thank You so much for Your patience and efforts.

For anyone coming here looking for a way to enable brims on only a few parts without having to disable brims for all the other parts:

1. Enable expert mode

2. Right click the part/object you want to enable brim on.

3. Add settings> skirt and brim

4. Enable both Brim typeBrim width

5. Set the type to the desired type and the desired brim width.

By default as of PrusaSlicer 2.9.4, when you enable Brim globally, it sets the width to 5

This is just for the sake of clarity, using the method described by @adevries17 above you Can Not click on a "part/object" you want to enable brim on in version 2.9.4 under any OS. You can only add a brim using this method to an "Object" in PrusaSlicer, an Object and a Part are two very different things and the properties that you can assign to one or the other, are very different, Brims Can NOT be assigned to a "Part" using the method descried, they can only be assigned to an "Object". Brims In PrusaSlicer are however much more powerful and capable then the method described above by @adevries17 if you find you have a greater need, look further for more information.
