High CPU temperature when PrusaSlicer is idle

Whenever I open PrusaSlicer, the temperature of one or more of the CPU cores instantly go to over 90C degrees. The task manager shows 0% CPU usage, but the temps remain high as long as PrusaSlicer is idle. If I'm actively slicing something, then the temps drops, but as soon as PrusaSlicer goes back to idle, the temps rise again. I need to solve this problem before my laptop is destroyed (Dell XPS 9500). I downloaded OrcaSlicer and it doesn't have this problem.

I'm using CoreTemp to display CPU core temperatures in the status bar.

Before starting PrusaSlicer, normal temps...

Within seconds of starting PrusaSlicer...

Additional information...

I'm using PrusaSlicer version 2.7.2

If I'm running the laptop from the battery, then this problem doesn't occur, but as soon as I plug in the AC adapter and PrusaSlicer is idle, one or more CPU cores will climb to 90C very quickly. Very strange behavior.
