g-code with toolpath outside porinting area - where?

Hi all,

I am working on a print that will nee the whole width of the print bed. The base design was done in F360 with an exact x of 250mm. I then did some additional sculpting in blender. This somehow blew up x to 250.4mm - too big 🙁

I identified the culprit area on the model and scraped away the offending 0.4mm. The .stl fit exactly.

But after the sclicing there was a "toolpath outside print area" error, including a dramatically red background.

Is there an easy way within slicer to identify the culprit area? Or do I have to go through the g-code and hunt for coordinates outside the area?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Cheers

Hansjoerg

If it's a close case, it may be the skirt, which is on by default and adds to the X and Y dimensions.  Set the skirt loops to zero and it will most likely disappear.

RE: g-code with toolpath outside porinting area - where?

I ran into the same problem trying to print an object 250mm wide some one else in the forum did as well. I had to reduce the width of the object to 249.99mm to print. If you try to 'scale to print volume' you will find it will only scale to a max width of 249.99mm.

I have done some in initial tests where I went into printer settings and tried to tell Prusaslicer that my bed was 252 mm wide, and tried to set my object to 250mm wide but I still got the message. This also happened when I disabled the skirt.  I do not know if anyone has opened a bug report on this or not.

This has come up before:

NOTE: I am using PS 2.1.0. Maybe it has been 'fixed'.

it was in fact the skirt line...

Scaling wouldn't have been my preferred option because there is a second part that fits rather snugly into the big part and Wouldn't want to change that part as well.

Thank you for this information!  After spending several hours on a model this is just what i needed to start the print.

Fantastic - setting skirt loops to zero helped me as well
