I have had nothing but trouble with AppImages for a few versions. I realize that some of the trouble is LINUX changing from GTK2 to GTK3.

Things got better yesterday as I found the UNIX/LINUX source build page. https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/blob/master/doc/How%20to%20build%20-%20Linux%20et%20al.md

It took a few hours to compile. But after adding missing Dependencies. It works now. No more crashes while rotating an object.

It also loads SO much faster. There was an error that it could not save to {recently-used.xbel } I followed the path to /home/(user)/.local/share. I checked as even under root I could not change it. It had an IMMUTABLE setting. I used chattr -i on it and no more crashes.

So now I have source working and GTK2 AppImage and GTK3 AppImage.

I'm posting this because of posts that basically saying source works so should app images because they are built using the same source for Linux.

RE:

What distro?

I have none of those issues you mentioned under Ubuntu 22.04 with XFCE4 ( well it is actually xbuntu now) using App image works, getting prusaslicer from sources also works but took noticeable amount of time to just compile it.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.
