Exporting/applying a subset of print settings

Hi,

There are a handle of custom print settings that I like to use occasionally. However, it'd be a bit cumbersome to have to manually apply them to all of my available system presets. Instead, is there a way to save just those handful of settings in a separate location, and then selectively apply them from time to time whenever I want to use them?

Thanks,

Julien

If you don't want to add new presets set the machine as you want then save an simple cube as a project.  All the settings go with the project.

Nex time you want those settings reload the project, delete the cube and import your part file.

Cheerio,

Oh that's a good workaround, thanks!

Its what many long time users do.  Especially if you have different machines.  I can save several 'default' projects and just open one as a base.
So 'Default MK3 PLA' or 'Default CR10 PETG' for example.

The other thing you can do is use the same method to store your often used modifiers.  Take a very small default cube placed off plate and non printable and you can assign one or more modifiers  to it.  You can then copy and paste those modifier settings from one object to another.  This allows you to build up a library of modifiers attached to several objects and all stored in your default projects.

Oh that's very neat, thanks for the tip.

Regarding the off-plate objects. Are you saying that it's possible to assign different modifiers to different object as part of the same print? If so, that's awesome -- I somehow thought that the same settings would always apply to all objects of the same print.

Yes you can have different modifiers on different objects. Most types anyway. That includes layer height modifiers and also shape modifiers. You can print objects with different layer heights, infills, perimeters etc.

Might want to peruse the PRUSA knowledge base for PRUSA slicer to learn the basics if you haven’t already done so.

You know it's weird. I recently looked this up and had a hard time finding this information, but finally came up with this on google.

Not so much removed as got pissed off with rude posters and left, sad day, a very clever man, knew 3d printing inside out and backwards.

There are always people who walk like an elephant through a porcelain store. Here in the Prusaforum it runs in a more civilized way. I know much worse German print forums from which I distance myself far. Some people lack education and politeness.

Too bad swiss_cheese is no longer involved 🤔

wbr,

It's my sense that boards are much worse in that way since Covid.

Here in Europe, it's not "just" Covid. Since the beginning of the war people are restless, irritable and demonstrate against decisions of governments. In hard times, we should more help each other.
