"Export Config Bundle with Physical Printer" does not transfer all settings 🙁

Hello, I want to transfer my slicer's settings to a new computer. I tried to do File/Export/Export Config Bundle with Physical Printer but it doesn't transfer my printer and physical printer. (Both slicers are on the same version 2.9.0)

I tried to File/import/import config from a project and it only added the printer. And things like print settings are still missing

I would appreciate it if someone could help me or explain how to transfer all my settings

An exported config bundle only contains any customised profiles.  If your profiles are completely stock then it wont contain them.  Standard profiles are supposed to be installed via the wizard.

If you want to avoid the wizard then you need to get hacky.  On your old machine open OS, use the Help>Show Configuration folder option and see where its storing your settings.  Then copy the contents of that folder to some storage like a USB stick.  On your new computer install as usual then use the same Help>Show config folder to see where the new install is storing its settings.  Then shut PS down.  Then copy the usb sticks contents over.  Restart PS and you *should* have a copy of what you had on your old machine.

Instead of using the in-app export, try copying the entire PrusaSlicer configuration folder from your old computer to your new one.

Find the Configuration Folder

  • On Windows: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\PrusaSlicer
  • On macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/PrusaSlicer
  • On Linux: ~/.config/PrusaSlicer

Copy the Entire Folder

Copy this folder to a USB drive, external storage, or cloud storage.

Transfer It to the New Computer

Paste it into the same directory on the new computer.

Restart PrusaSlicer

When you open PrusaSlicer, all your profiles (printer, filament, print settings) should be there.

Sprunki Retake
