Yup.  They droop on the windshield of a car.

I have had PLA Items  go soft in the sun...
or on a radiator

could higher temperature be the issue

PLa has a low glass transition temperature

I was talking about the eSun Nylon HT CF, it's supposed to be 170MPA at 150 degrees, short term up to 180 degree C, and it's pliable and soft like licorice at 20 degree C after a couple of weeks.

Good luck!

I hope the supplier sorts this.

Great post and reading. thanks everyone, espcially @jmone

However, all the profile attachments appear to have been removed 🙁 can they be posted again, or linked to somewhere more permanent?

RE: eSun ePA-CF, Carbon Fibre Slicer Profile.

My settings for ePA-CF: dry @70c>12hrs (from bag, or 24Hrs if left out); 280c; 80c PEI (textured) plate, nano-adhesive or glue stick if needed; no fan; 40-60mm/s speed; use enclosure; 0.4mm hardened nozzle; 0.2-0.32mm layers (adaptive); tree supports (with support interfaces); 20-100% infil; optimize-wall order (less retraction = less clogs). I pre-heat the build surface & extruder for 5-min or so for this stuff, as well as print directly from dryer.

isn't Nylon suposed to be printed without fan? why are you using 30% fan? (honest question, noob here)

RE:

Hi guys!

My prints are also coming soft, just immediately after printing with this same filament.

I have dried my spool for over 24h and benchu comes out great, but it is maleable even with only one hand, as if it was some king of super hard TPU.

I have been told this material needs 50ºC ambient temperature, is this correct?

Is there any news on this topic? thanks!

RE:

It looks like eSun manufacture(d) two totally different ePA-CF, having different parameters, including strength.

One is this: https://www.esun3d.com/epa-cf-product/
(also on the second picture)

Another one - see the first picture.

Even on the spools they have different recommended print temperatures, but that is not all, companies selling it - specify totally different other parameters.

The question is, are these two filaments the same, or the first one indeed have superior parameters, compared to the second one?

Which one you got?

Isn't ePA a polyamide, which is Nylon? Do Nylons print with the same profiles (temperatures, linear advance K value, volumetric flows, cooling, etc) as PETG? Wouldn't Taulman Bridge be a better starting point?

(I'm asking because I honestly don't know...)

Yes the PA include Nylon but the eSun ePA range have a lower printing temp that straight Nylon (so it has been modified somehow) and it is similar to PETG (hence why I started with that one as a base profile).  The only stats I have on the eSun ePA-CF is from their info:

Characteristics:

- Environmentally friendly, Nylon based, 20% carbon fiber;

- Printing smoothly, odorlessness, matte finish printing effect;

- High Strength, High Rigidity, Good Toughness, Wear Resisting, Fitting to 3D print industrial parts;

- HD T Top 160℃, then suitable for the high temp occasion;

- Compared with Nylon, it has lower shrink rate and distortion, high accuracy without warped edge;

- Good flame resistance, Flame-retardant level: UL94-V2;

- Stainless steel nozzle shall be needed instead of quick-wear bronze nozzle when using CFRPA filament.

- Print Temp: 240-260

- Bed Temp:  80

- Density: 1.24

- Heat Distortion: 120c

- Melt Flow Index: 10 g/10min

- Tensile Stregth: 75 MPa

- Elongation at Break: 26%

- Flexural Strength: 122 MPa

- Flexural Modulus: 5160 MPa

- IZOD Impact Strength: 12 kJ/m3

I also have a spool of Dupont Zytel (PA 6) and it too is tough as nails but much more expensive and I print that at 270c and used the Poymaker PC-Max (for some reason I've forgotten but probably it was the closest at the time for Print Temp) as the basis for my tweaks on this filament.

(I know, my post is confusing as to which filament is the "first", and whish one is the "second", because I listed the products in one order and the pictures went in reverse order; but when I realized that, the forum would not let me to edit the post, so...)

Which one is yours, the "240-260" one?

Correct, the one with the clear spool.

All of mine have also been the clear spool, and they still rock!

RE: eSun ePA-CF, Carbon Fibre Slicer Profile.

I always thought my bad results are caused by incorrect printing parameters... care to share your printing profile for this material?

See my 1st April 2022 post (not a joke!).  It has the 3MF of the Benchy that has the settings.

RE: eSun ePA-CF, Carbon Fibre Slicer Profile.

So, I was reading this thread as I have some of this material but haven't used it yet. I have the first one on the clear spool, with a max temp of 260 suggested.

For context, those of you that have suggested settings, etc, which version do you have?

Thanks
