Empty layers

I am trying to print a thin wall model but I am getting a Empty layer message.

I can slice it in Cura but that lacks some of the features I want to use.  I have attached an image of the sliced part and a zipped copy of the 3mf file

Best Answer by Neophyl:

Prusa Slicer does not have the equivalent of Cura surface mode.  This model will not slice in PS unless you make it manifold.

The closest PS has is Slicing Mode Even-Odd but that was added specifically due to some of the RC model planes and even then it took years to be added and only works for some specific geometry tricks.

Nothing attached.

How thick is the model wall?

The file is corrupt: Slicer reports 280 open edges - and some of those walls have zero thickness, they are just a single surface...

The warning triangle next to the part name is the telltale.

If this is your own design go back to CAD and make certain the output settings are for 3D printing - sometimes output settings are optimised for game/cgi rendering which only requires a surface.

Yes it is my own design, exporting in STL.

It is a non-manifold design with open edges and is a single perimeter skin.

It can be sliced in CURA using Surface mode set to 'surface' and slicing tolerance set to 'middle'.  Photo shows it sliced.   I have printed it using that slicer but would like to be able to perform all my slicing in Prusa.  I was hoping someone her could assist with settings.

You cannot use vase mode as there are breaks in the perimeter.

Luckily it's your own CAD.  It needs to be manifold; if you want a single perimeter thick wall give it one extrusion width thickness.

I am not printing in vase mode.  As I say I have sliced and printed in Cura as the file.  YES it is NOT manifold but that is possible to print.  I am hoping someone can assist with how this can be sliced in Prusa.  I can use Cura but would prefer to use Prusa exclusively.

Thank you for the explanation.  I will adjust the model accordingly.

I did notice that using the cut function repairs the model making it manifold and it will slice.
