Embossed Text Artifact Inside Slab

I saw something I don't understand and I'm hoping someone can help me understand.

I'm making a keychain. First, I added text to the plate, then I added a slab as a part and had the text use surface. Then I added a negative cylinder.

After slicing, I noticed that there was a layer at 1.0mm that had the text. This is inside the slab, which is 1.8mm in height. The previous and subsequent layers do not have this artifact.

I'm pretty sure this is user-error but I'm not sure how or what I did to cause this. Any ideas?

I appreciate the help in advance.

RE: Embossed Text Artifact Inside Slab

Its a slight bug in the way PS works.  You can try increasing the number of bottom layers (or top layers).  For example if you have a 2mm thick generic slab and 5 bottom and 5 top layers of 0.2mm then its a solid slab.  The text will leave the artefact as you picture.  Increasing the bottom layers to 6 will stop it in that instance.

Are you trying to use PS as a CAD tool?  Whilst this task is possible you would do much better with purpose designed 3D CAD software with many more features.  There are plenty of threads on here comparing different software.

To do what you attempted:  Create the slab, add the text as a modifier, subtract the negative cylinder - and slice.

Cheerio,
