Editing a (B)Gcode file in Slicer not Viewer
I noticed that with 2.7.1, I cannot open and edit a Gcode file with Prusa Slicer. I can only open a Gcode with the Gcode viewer. Opening a project in the slicer does not have a Gcode file type as an option. Also, If I try to "open with" in File Explorer and select PrusaSlicer, not viewer, it only opens the viewer. I even checked the preferences, and the options to associate Gcode files with the viewer are not selected.
Is it intentional that you can no longer edit or open Gcode files with PrusaSlicer?
RE: Editing a (B)Gcode file in Slicer not Viewer
Its been like that for ages. Ever since the viewer became a separate thing. Which predates 2.7.1 by a long way. Version 2.3.x I believe
Projects are in effect the 'source' file for generating gcode. They do not contain or store any gcode as you can regenerate the gcode from the data in the project. They never have. They contain the objects, placement, copies of the 3 in use profiles, modifiers, variable layer heights in effect, and in later ones the data on any painted areas used for the tools that use them.
PS has never let you directly edit the gcode any way, that always had to be done in an external editor as far as I'm aware.
