Dovetail cutting works in one direction but not when object (and cut) rotated 90 degrees

I am able to cut a long object in Dovetail mode when the object is parallel to the longer edge of the plate but when I rotate the object (and the cut) by 90 degrees in the plane, it fails to allow the cut.

Note you can see in the pictures below that all the settings are the same other than the 90 degree rotation.In the first image, "Perform Cut" is active while in the second image it is not.

I also submitted this as a bug. https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/11899
Has anyone else had this problem?

Not seen that before no.  Also just as a reference you are going to need to attach a prusa slicer project file to your issue on github before the devs can take a look at it to repeat the issue.  Basically the same as we ask people to do here when they have problems as without a project anything is guess work.  Maybe educated guesswork but still guesses 🙂

RE:

Thanks I added a simplified test file -- just a long thin/narrow beam created in Prusa Slicer itself using "Add Shape" = Box.
Cut about halfway using:
Z=4.5
Depth = 2.25mm + .10mm
Width = 2.25mm + .10mm
Flip Angle = 60deg
Groove Angle = 0deg
