Different heights for skirt and first layer?
Hello, I'm printing using Prusaslicer and it seems like the skirt printed around the parts is a smaller height to the first layer of the part itself.
Since this is not on a Prusa printer (its an F430), I've had to create the printing profile myself. I've based it on the profile for the Mini+, because I haven't had to do this before and my Mini+ seems to work well. But I have changed a lot of the settings now, and - although I can't see any to change the skirt layer height - it's possible I've changed one without realising what it does.
Is there a way to print at different layer heights for the skirt and the rest of the first layer?
I thought I should ask here before looking for another reason for this issue.
RE: Different heights for skirt and first layer?
If you save simple project, say a cube and then use Save Project As. The resulting .3mf file will contain copies of the object but more importantly all 3 of the profiles you are using, so print, filament and printer. That way we can examine it to check.
Remember to attach a file to a reply here you must zip it up or the forum will just silently not attach it.
Its easy to check yourself though, slice something and then on the preview choose Layer Height from the options and all the preview lines will change to display that. If the first layer features are different heights then you will see them in different colours.
Most normal profiles the first layer height will apply to all features on that layer though. It is not impossible to configure it to be different though which is why we would need your project file to debug just what setting would be doing it.
