CR10 Smart : bed size set default at 290 instead of 300?
Hello, just wanted to make sure I am not reading this incorrect.
The specs on creality say its 300x300x400, but the default cr10 smart profile in slicer 2.4.x is: 290 x 290 x 400.
Thoughts?

All non prusa printer profiles are supplied by the community. They are not checked by Prusa. Maybe the person who provided it found that 300x300 caused them issues with their printer. Maybe they got a Friday afternoon special by Creality. Who knows.
You should always take responsibility for your own printer, always check through anything provided free of charge anyway.
Edit it to 300x300 and TEST it on YOUR printer.

Just me and no empirical evidence but I don't think the extreme edges of the bed can sustain the same temperature as the center. I set my endstops so that X0 and Y0 are 100mm in from edge and firmware limits Xmax and Ymax in a similar way. Of I lose a little width and depth but I can live with that.
