Copy all filaments from Mk3 to MMU Mk3

Hi,

I'm trying to get all the Mk3 filaments, along with my user ones that were generated for my Mk3 on to the new build with MMU2S.  However, whenever selecting a printer that is one of the MMU2S types, the filaments are super limited.

How do I get my other filaments to this printer type?

Thanks!

RE: Copy all filaments from Mk3 to MMU Mk3

You would have to modify the filament profiles.  There are 2 methods of restricting profiles used in PS.  The old method and the new.  Both are still valid.  The new method uses Vendor profiles and is fairly complicated.  This uses an inheritance chain system.  Theres not much you can do about those except manually edit the various vendor profiles as there no editor for them.

The other is the older dependencies section of a profile.  Dependencies are only visible if you are in advanced/expert mode.  Best to be in expert as that shows all the options.

Filaments have a compatible printers conditions and also a compatible print profile condition.  It may be those that are stopping a filament showing up.  IIRC they often have a single extruder condition listed.

That section also has the Detach from System Preset button which is used to unlink them from a vendor space.  It the only editing option currently for Vendor spaces.   It breaks the chain.  As mentioned it can get quite complicated.

Of course you can edit any of your own but system presets cant be modified so you would need to save copies of the modified filaments.

Prusa do lock them down for a reason though, their testing has shown that some filament settings dont play well with the MMU which is why they arent available when you select a MMU printer.  So edit and use at your own risk.
