Configuring the default tool/extruder for multimaterial setups

Hi,

for multimaterial setups, there is a drop down menu in the plater tab that allows you to select the tool/color/extruder for a selected object.

this drop down has a default option that is targeted to tool 0, i was looking for a way to change this but couldnt find it.

question is is there a way to configure it and if not, why is then the option there in the firs tplace?

thank you

No, there typically isn't a way to configure the default option for tool assignment in the dropdown menu of slicer software like PrusaSlicer. The default option (usually Tool 0) is set to ensure all parts of a model are assigned a tool if no explicit assignments are made. This simplifies multi-material printing setup by defaulting to the primary tool when necessary.

This Extruders block of perimeters are used when the extruder is set to Default in the plater view.
