Changing which extruder prints which piece
Hello,
When I watched the intro video for PrusaSlicer 2.0, there was a section in the panel on the right side of the screen where the user could change which extruder prints each part. When I uploaded my model, though, I do not see where I can change the extruder. I am trying to print my object in two colors using extruders 1 and 2. Does anyone know where I can find that setting? Thanks!

I think you need to add the proper control to the part of the part you want to print with a different extruder. Right click the part you want to change (the gear thingy) and you get a list of options you can select. Find the one that is related to which extruder (1-5) you want to use, accept it, then you get a new pull down under the part that let's you select the filament (by extruder).
I don't have the MMU installed in my Plicer - so can't be sure this example is correct, but is close enough to show the concept.

When I right click on the part, this is the menu that comes up, but even when I click on a different extruder it doesn't seem to change anything. And when I do that, the menu like is in your screenshot still won't show up. Am I clicking on the wrong thing?

when you add pictures, please enable Link To: Media file
then the pictures enlarge when clicked.
in the image below, I have loaded 5 stl's for an object as a multi material object
currently "UNDERTAKER" Is selected in the right hand panet, the relavent STL name is highlighted.
if you now click on the extruder section of the highlighted panel, three times
you get the opportunity to select the extruder you want to use...
NOTE, there are two similar items,
RedFlash... does what it says, and gives the red flash on the logo. and
Extra Flash... which you can't see...
when the red was printed over black, the result was very dull, so I put a white extra flash immediately behind the red flash,
to make the red 'POP out'. and become much brighter
I am showing this with the text on top, however I would normally print it upside down, for two reasons,
1, I can benefit from the surface texture to blend the print lines and give a pleasant finish
2 the colour details are only 1mm thick, so the wastepile is only 1mm thick, if printed face up, the wastepile would be about 3mm thick.
I hope this helps,
Joan

I must be importing the part incorrectly. Can I no longer select all the pieces and click import? Because when I do that, I can't find a way to see each piece separately, like in the sidebar you have where you can change the extruder. It obviously recognizes the different pieces because it is making them each a different color, but which extruder does what has been chosen already by the program. I only have the "object manipulation" section, which looks like on yours is called "part manipulation." I'm not sure why that is different either.

Hi Katharine,
if you import one piece, you can right click on the object and use the menu to Add Part (Load) the next parts of the model giving me this
I then clicked on each element in the right hand panel, and selected the preferred colours to get this
I have added a copy of the parts in a zipfile (it includes a project file in .3mf format)

Have a play, see if you can get the hang of it, with files that have been used before
