Changing from TPU to PETG mid print
Hi all, first post!
I'm designing some parts that need a TPU bottom with the rest being PETG. I've been going insane trying to find a way to set my file up to do this in prusaslicer. Can anyone help? I'd like to avoid printing them separately and gluing them together if at all possible.
RE: Changing from TPU to PETG mid print
I've never tried doing that but how about inserting a filament swap at the appropriate layer in the slicer preview and adding pre layer change custom gcode to set up print temperature and speed accordingly with an if layer_num greater than or less than test for that layer? Not sure what changes may be appropriate for retraction. May also require adjusting the idler tension at time of swapping filament. No idea how well PETg and TPU will bond.

I do this all the time, although i start with PETG and end with TPU.
bonding between TPU and PETG is good… but TPU and PLA do not mix.
i use the colour change feature and used edit the GCODE to bump up the nozzle temp by 10 degrees for the TPU part, but found that for my application i could print the TPU and PETG using the same settings.
try it and see how you get on
