Can't print objects separately - pilot error? bug?
I made a little model that prints one-layer 20mm * 20mm patches at the four corners of the bed and also in the center. It's a quick check to verify that the bed is leveled appropriately.
Since it often helps to pull up a patch and feel and scrutinize both sides, there's a little tag on each patch to facilitate removal from the bed. I wanted PrusaSlicer to print each patch completely before going on to the next (so I could start inspecting before the print was complete), but I haven't been able to turn on this option successfully.
I went to Print Settings -> Output options and checked "Complete individual objects". PrusaSlicer complains "Some objects are too close; your extruder will collide with them." It doesn't seem to matter what values are entered for "Extruder clearance"; nothing seems to work.
There's a possibly-related issue report here, but in my case the objects are already very similar to their convex hulls, at least in XY. There is 5mm of clearance between each patch and the adjacent edges of the build plate.
I should mention that I split the original STL into five parts with the "Split to objects" command.
Is this feature known not to work?

Not sure why you are trying to print them each separately. The slicer will generally do that by default when planning moves.
But what you are actually doing is requesting the printer to print each part in series. The assumption is parts are tall. This requires parts be separated by the size of the extruder footprint plus size of the part - otherwise, tall parts will get knocked by the extruder as it prints one part to full height after the other.

Perhaps we have different ideas of what "printing them each separately" means. I want the slicer to print each patch in its entirety before continuing on to the next patch, including the elevated areas. The default behavior is to print the first layer of all patches, then print the second layer of all patches, etc.

Yes, exactly. Are those criteria not satisfied here?

Show the values you have entered into the two measurement fields for that setting - extruder radius and one other.
I have used this feature recently and it worked, so that is the place to start troubleshooting.
Also, your image shows six objects in the right hand side object list but only five on the plate. Make sure you don't have any overlapping objects.

Yes, that's it. I'm an idiot. There's a shadow copy of one of the patches in the original CAD model, so of course it interferes.
