Can't get mesh to close on rounded surfaces

Good Morning Everyone, I am having issues with various rounded curves with multiple different parts.  This is one of the best examples of what I am having happen.  The original model has solid rounded surface and looks great,  When I slice with 0.32mm layer height I get an open mesh as seen below.

If I try to print the part as sliced, the open mesh is on the part as seen below...

The only way I can minimize this open mesh is to slice at a layer height of 0.1mm, you can see in the next pic that it almost gets rid of the issue

Slicing at 0.1mm creates it's own issue,  it makes this part almost a 3 day print, where if I could slice it accurately at 0.32mm it would only be a 17hr print.

I have seen others upload the fie as a zipped file, that they are having issues on but I do not see how to attach a file, but will happily if someone can tell me how.

Is there an option other than changing layer height to get rid of this defect?

Regards,

First of all the attach button is normally to the bottom left of the text window, 'Choose File'.  However you need a certain number of posts before some restrictions are lifted.  From your account you only have a single post so far.  So no attaching files for you yet.

Secondly this is not a bug or issue defect.  Its normal for fdm 3d printing.  As you are slicing the object into discrete layers, on shallow slopes the 'stair stepping' is more noticeable.  The larger the layer height the greater the stair effect.  It also looks like your settings are configured for not enough perimeters or zero top layers.  Those gaps would normally be closed in by extra perimeters or top layers.  If you are using vase mode then there is very little you can do about it.  You can reduce the layer height to get smaller steps as you have done or you can re-orient the part to make the apparent slope steeper.
I also note from your screen caps that the model is full of errors.  This may be effecting the slice but looking at the geometry I think it would still have issues with your apparent settings.

Make a few more posts and see when the option to attach appears.  Definitely need an attached 3mf project to make sure with this one and try various options.

What neophyl said. My interpretation was that whatever that top surface is, it's too thin to print properly with a 0.3 mm nozzle. But without a zipped 3mf, it's just guesses.

Thanks for your reply it was very helpful.  I added some range height modifiers for the spots that had openings setting top layers to 1.  it fixed all but one area...then I tried a bottom layer for that area and it closed the holes there as well on my next slice.  Trying a test print with the new settings now and I will let you know how it goes.

That makes sense, I used a combination of range height modifiers adding 1top layers at sections that had the open mesh and 1 bottom layer for one of the issues and it seems to have closed all the open mesh spots.  and only increased my print time to just over 1Day instead of 3 days per my previous attempts.
