Can you change materials at a layer height in PrusaSlicer?

I was looking on the KB and forum but didn't find an answer. I know how to insert a colour change at any layer height, but can you have it change materials? What I want is to print a few layers of PETG, then PLA, or the reverse. I know it wouldn't work with all materials but there has to be some way to do it without manually editing the gcode isn't there?

Yes, you have to set up a multi extruder setup and then assign the different layers to the 'second' virtual extruder.  Depending on the material or on what you actually need to do though if its just simple changes like temperature etc for the different material you can use the insert custom gcode option instead of the colour change and insert the required gcode to change the settings you need at the layers you need.
