Bed Image/Model Shows Ugly Default Grey, Not i3 MK3S Bed Model

Recently got my i3 MK3S and have been learning a ton as this is my first 3D printer. I noticed from some videos and images around the net that the bed image/model showning in PrusaSlicer matches the bed of the printer you have. All I have ever seen for the "bed" is a gray grid. Except in my copy since it was first installed it never has. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

Note: I am running the latest version of PrusaSlicer (v2.1.0), the attached image is a random from the web to illustrate my issue.

Typically when uninstalling a program on Windows the settings folder in %appdata%\ is untouched, and there may be something messed up in the settings. Try renaming the folder %appdata%\PrusaSlicer to something else (so PrusaSlicer won't find it, but you can restore it if this doesn't work). This will to Plicer make it appear that you just installed it and will force rebuilding it from factory defaults.

And this is what I guess the bed image should look like:

Try running through the Configuration Wizard again. If you have any custom profiles that you've saved, first save them out as a configuration bundle. Then run the configuration wizard and tell it to remove user profiles. If you don't see the bed object after running the wizard, try running it two more times; the first time de-select the Prusa printers you have to force the wizard to remove those profiles, and the second time select the Prusa printers you do have. Once you have see the bed then reload the configuration bundle that you had saved out to get your custom profiles back.

Hopefully I'm not talking nonsense and there isn't an issue with the 2.0 version for MacOS that I don't know about...

(You may also want to consider upgrading to 2.1. If you are naturally cautious about upgrading things willy-nilly, I feel the undo feature is worth getting over the upgrade anxiety. The version of PrusaSlicer in the 2.8.8 driver pack claims to handle the quirks of Catalina 10.15.)

I will give this procedure a try tonight when I get home.

Also, sorry, I didnt make it clear, I am running the latest version of PrusaSlicer and Im running on a Windows 10 machine.

Sorry, I was so focused on the screenshot in your first message that I missed where you said it was a random picture from the internet showing something similar to your issue, and then also giving your Plicer version and OS. My bad for skimming your post.

No worries, happens to us all.

So this issue sucks. I tried re-running the Configuration Wizard leaving only the i3 MK3S and i3 MK3S w/ MMU2S both at 0.4mm nozzles checked and no other options checked and clicked Finish and that made no difference.

Then I uninstall everything Prusa, restarted and reinstalled DRIVERS & APPS 2.2.8 from this page: LINK. Reopened the application and same exact results. I also noticed that my profile name remained for Print, Filament and Printer Settings. I thought that was weird since I had uninstalled the application. Also the Configuration Wizard did not automatically run as it did the very first time I installed it on this computer.

So then I uninstalled all Prusa stuff again and this time went into RegEdit and deleted one by one everything with the word Prusa in it, restarted and reinstalled again. Opened the app and no change. And in fact my profile name was still there for Print, Filament and Printer Settings. And same thing with no Configuration Wizard automatically running.

Further frustrated I went to another computer (happened to be running Windows 7 Pro) and installed the same application package and the Configuration Wizard automatically popped up and I again selected the i3 MK3S and i3 MK3S w/ MMU2S both at 0.4mm nozzles checked and no other options checked and clicked Finish and that worked just fine. The correct bed model and image showed up. Also the options for the i3 MK3S showed up in the drop down menu for Print, Filament and Printer Settings which they do not on my main PC.

Not sure what gives here, but something is definitely wrong.

Yep, deleting the  %appdata%\PrusaSlicer folder and opening PrusaSlicer seems to have fixed the issue. I lost all my custom settings, but honestly they were nothing I couldnt remember and reset. Thanks for the suggestion!

Benr, if you restore your original problematic settings and open slicer you can export the settings you want either individually or as a config Bundle.  Once you have done that swap back to your current clean settings and then import the configs you saved.

I hear ya, but as I mentioned before I just deleted the whole folder. It wasnt hard to just re-click all the settings once I had the configuration working again.
