Are variable perimeter number settings per layer possible?

Hello everyone,

Is it possible to set different perimeter settings per layer in the same object?

Some background to the question:

I am printing some coins for use in board games. I am using Prusa's Gold PLA filament. I have noticed the light reflects differently off the perimeters (round path of the nozzle) and the cris-cross (straight lines) top layer. I changed the minimum perimeter settings so that the object consists of perimeters only and I really like the look. However, since the filament does not stick to itself very well, an object consisting of perimeters is not as mechanically sturdy as one that has the criss-cross pattern.

Is there a way to change the settings of the slicer so that only the top  one or two layers use the maximum perimeter settings (for the looks) while the layers under have criss-cross (for sturdiness)?

Never mind, I found the Height Range Modifier.

Awesome slicer, btw!

Have you considered using Concentric infill on the top and bottom layers?

Thank you for the advice, it makes things even easier, as it makes changing the settings of each object separately unnecessary.

As I will be printing each side of the coins separately, I chose Aligned rectilinear infill for the bottom and Concentric for the top layer and the slicer seems to do exactly what I wanted. A test-print will show if a single layer of concentric lines in the top layer will provide the look I am aiming for.

Thank you again, for the quick response!

Great community!
