Arachne + Concentric Top Fill Pattern + Dual color filament = failure (visual only)
Hello all !
Just wanna share my experience trying to print a plate with a glass holder inside that I designed.
I did some print several months ago without Arachne setting, and it printed just fine.
Yesterday I sliced the model again, but with arachne this time, and I did not check the exact movement of the nozzle in PrusaSlicer before sending it to print.
Result : on the top fill, the nozzle printed half of the plate clockwise, and the other half counter-clockwise. This would not have been any issue if I was not using a dual-color filament, but I was... 😓
Here is the result of my previous print (normal slicing) on the left, and Arachne slicing on the right.
The solution is obvious : slice without arachne setting. I hope it can save any of you a bit of filament. 😊

If anyone else wants that effect you can approximate it by mounting a sharpie against the filament as it enters the extruder.

Arachne is fine when it works but I've learned to doublecheck the preview because sometimes it does weird things...

Arachne struggles with tiny infills which it can't print by finetuning lane width. Concentric infill is traditionally rather bad it gapless surfaces under certain conditions. If you add both together the problem multiplies.
To be honest I usually choose the classic algorithm, except in some cases where Arachne schines.
