Annoying Slicer bug, Slicer 2.3.0+
Hi,
When I have sliced an object, exported the gcode and cleared the plater, I cannot import or place another STL. It's visible in the list on the right-hand side, but not on the plater. I have to restart the Slicer in order to be able to see it.
Is this a known bug or a settings issue?

I wonder if the original poster is still on the preview view ?
There are 2 views available of the plater. There is the design view where you can place objects, move them, edit with modifiers etc. Then there is the slice preview. When you slice PS automatically changes to the preview view. If you then delete the objects using the tree view the plate will clear the slice preview so it will be empty. If you then add another object it will be added to the tree view but the plater will still 'appear' to be empty. This is because its still in the preview view. As you haven't got a sliced version of the new objects theres nothing to show.
I've seen several users not get this difference initially. Maybe that's not your issue though. You could post some screen shots of what you are actually seeing to illustrate your process and problem.
RE: Annoying Slicer bug, Slicer 2.3.0+
I just tried this in PrusaSlicer 2.3.0 on Mac:
Loaded an STL by dragging it into the Plater view.
- Sliced it.
- Saved the gcode.
- Deleted the part from the list on the right.
- Deleted the part by highlighting it in Editor view and pressing delete.
After doing this, I can:
- Drag a new STL onto the Plater view.
- Add a new part with File->Import->Import STL.
Are you trying to add the part differently?

Hi neophyl
thank you very much, that solved the problem. A bit unlogical though that the 3D (edit) view and the preview are located under window.
