2.9 and Syncing profiles

I am finally getting around to exploring PrusaSlicer and I must say that whatever voodoo it is doing, I am getting better print quality on my SV04 than I ever did with Cura.  I run Linux and have managed to avoid the need for Flatpak, so it sucks that we have to rely on that now, but I recognize the need.

I want to sync my Filaments, Printers and Print Settings presets between different computers.  Typically I use syncthing for this, synchronizing specific folders between machines.  This works well for Cura, so I figured I could duplicate this strategy for PrusaSlicer.   I am guessing this is going to be even easier because it appears that all information for each preset is held in .ini files.  Simple.

I am going to sync the following folders.

  • ~/.var/app/com.prusa3d.PrusaSlicer/config/PrusaSlicer/filament
  • ~/.var/app/com.prusa3d.PrusaSlicer/config/PrusaSlicer/print
  • ~/.var/app/com.prusa3d.PrusaSlicer/config/PrusaSlicer/printer

Is this right?  Am I missing some other things that should also be synced?

I don't k ow about Linux but for Mac and Windows I just use symlinks to sync the whole config directory.

I thought about that, but I want things like font size for the app itself to be specific to the computer.   That said, I did discover that my solution is working pretty well, but it would be nice if my live preset stuff (ie, a change that is made to nozzle temperature that is not saved to a preset) would carry over to another computer.  This is not a big deal though.
