1st Layer extrusion width different for each part on the platten

I would find it very handy if I could set the 1st Layer extrusion width different for each part on the platten, the same way I can set perimeter extrusion width for each part.

Is there a way to do this that I am not aware of?

If not, then how do I make a feature request?

Thanks,

Dale

All issues and feature requests need to be made at the Prusa Slicer github.  It is located here https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues

Please be aware that there are guidelines for posting there so please read them and provide all the needed information when opening a new issue.
However as there are over 1900 open issues currently (and more closed ones) it is likely that there is already an existing one open.  For example, your request seems to be covered already by https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/3503   or this one https://github.com/prusa3d/PrusaSlicer/issues/3635 which is a request to add more option to the height range modifiers.  Go add your voice and support to one of those.

Thanks for that info!

Both of those requests seem to be requests for many parameters and would maybe daunt a programmer.

My issue is that 7 of the 8 extrusion widths that are available to us in 'Print Settings'>'Advanced' are selectable for each part.

I don't think it would be that much of a coding chore to simply add the 8th width (1st layer extrusion width) to the list for each part.

Would it be appropriate to start a separate feature request to tidy up this seemingly 'slipped through the cracks' issue?

Thanks,

Dale

Not really no, issue 3503 is exactly what you requested, its just asking for the first layer width to be added to the modifiers.

The second one, yes theres a whole bunch of things people want adding to them but the process of adding them is the same for each one.

The add settings/add modifier/height range modifier use the same underlying code and are all done the same way.  You are free to do whatever you want though.  Don't get offended if they close the issue as a duplicate though.

Prusa are conservative in their approach to issues.  First layer extrusion widths are generally used to adjust for issues with bed adhesion (in combination with first layer heights and first layer speeds/acceleration)

What problem or issue are you actually trying to combat though by having different objects with different first layer widths ?

Here is what happens on some parts but I do not want to have to print these parts on their own platen.

Please save a project file from Prusa Slicer, then zip up the resulting .3mf file and attach it.  Must be zipped or the forum doesn't accept the files.

With a project we can slice with every setting you are using, modifiers etc as it contains all that as well as the model(s).  They are the best way of debugging issues and it will allow us to see exactly what is happening and make changes if needed.  There are so many settings and they can interact in unexpected ways.

It is attached here 🙂

On a side note, layers 3 to 13 exhibit the messy slicing quirk that I mention in this topic.

Thanks!
