0% infill issue

Hi everyone !

Does anybody know why with a 0% infill setting, there is still a little infill (here in purple on the picture) ?

The print settings are 3 perimeters, no support.

In vase mode, everything is fine but I wanted my print to be more sturdy than in vase mode.

Thanks for your help !

Even with 0 fill there are places where the slicer will generate solid fill to support inwardly overhanging perimeters.

If you make a genuinely open shape by including the void in the original design instead of using no fill then the inside of the shape will also have external perimeters and the slicer rules change.

Cheerio,

Thanks for your reply, but you are talking about supports, which I desactivated.

And if you look closely at the picture, there's no need for support here because the purple regions do not overhang.

I managed to get rid of this solid infill by reducing the number of bottom layers from 3 to 2, which I think is weird !

There are methods to remove it using modifiers.  You would have to post a zipped up Prusa slicer project file (3mf) that we could use as an example for you if you want to learn how.

However for a vase mode print then its possible to print 0.6-0.8mm extrusions even with a 0.4mm nozzle which produces quite a sturdy print on its own with the right temp settings.

You are right Neophyl, vase mode for this model is better and I will try it next time.

Thanks !
