INDX and Blob of Doom
Does anyone know what replacement parts will be available for the INDX head? My primary concern is that Blob of Doom could damage the fully exposed induction coils. There are no silicone socks to provide any protection either.
RE: INDX and Blob of Doom
No one except Bondtech / Prusa would know what will be available in relation to spares in future.
I doubt what you are worried about will ever be a problem. I'm sure Bondtech would have considered risks accociated with ooze and INDX components in their design.
RE:
Looking at this video it is possible that the whole PCB assembly might need to be replaced if the induction coil is damaged. I guess it depends on whether it is soldered or plugged in, it looks soldered in the version shown.
RE: INDX and Blob of Doom
Am I missing something here...how are the induction coils fully exposed?
When there's a tool loaded they're not even slightly exposed?
RE:
While I am still waiting for my unit to arrive and cannot yet confirm this officially, the attached photo suggests there is space where plastic could potentially leak in. And looking closely at the gap, the coils are seem to be visible. At very blob could fuse the swappable nozzle to the print head. Regarding maintenance, I would like to know which replacement parts will be available to rebuild the head. While I see that nozzles are currently available for purchase, I not notice any other components listed for the rest of the assembly.
