Anybody following Bondtech's Discord community on INDX?

Yeah I've been on there also. Maybe Im just getting old and grumpy too but it's just a bunch of irritating, excited little kids who feel the need to constantly post anything and everything and can't shut up for 2 minutes.

It's annoying as Olaf does post interesting little nuggets every now and then, but thats just buried under the nonsense from the kids all vying for his attention.

Only a couple of weeks to go and then I can ditch Discord again, its an awful platform 👍

Olaf was on 3DMusketeers live stream from SMRRF over the weekend, nothing new but did say they're still on course so we should be hearing something relatively soon.

Yep, I got on there, simply posted the question: "Wonder when we will get founder's edition delivered? I feel like I'm on a kickstarter" I was then bombarded with gifs and memes, with their leader telling me "If you are going to be so negative, just get a refund then" Felt like I had entered into the main church of a cult and desecrated their holy relics.

Yeah Discord is weird old place, but there's been no official delays so for all we know the timeline will still be met, yet you do seem overwhelmingly negative about it all.
I mean, why June? 🤣

Does look like the standard main cable connector on that PCB, so I think it's safe to assume the existing core one main cable stays.

There's another pcb connector labelled 'z-min'...any ideas?
And a third opposite 'z-min' think thats the print fan.

Because April has 2 syllables so it didn't sound right. I guess I'm being pessimistic because they haven't been really transparent about the progress other than these youtube shorts.

Surely the only way they can be accused of not being transparent is if there were delays that they havent informed us about ?
They said Q1, We're still in Q1...no news is good news!

Don't get me wrong though, if there's any delays, we riot !!!

Really what it comes down to is putting off purchasing decisions waiting for the INDX to arrive based on some nebulous (end of Q1) date. That is the bit I find annoying. When I ordered my Core One in February last year I knew I was going to receive it end of June (which indeed that is when I received it) because I was getting regular updates from Prusa on the status of my order. If they had instead said only in the beginning: "Give us your money now and you will maybe get it sometime late Q2" and then gone silent, I would have bought a different printer.

Honestly I don't see the problem, they've said it will ship late in Q1, there's nothing to suggest that wont happen.

You're pretty much the only person I've seen moaning on here, Reddit or that hellish landscape called Discord.
As the old saying goes, 'you cant please everyone.'

My guess is the scanning z probe board from duet3d, Bondtech referenced in their recent video.

I have similar distain for discord. I’ve been on the Bondtech discord since buying the founders pre-order. I have it set to give me notifications if Olaf posts. Outside of that it’s muted. Originally got on discord when I made the ill fated decision to back the Ankermake m5 kickstarter… discord is a terrible platform to use for this stuff. It’s set up for computer gaming streamers adding comments on realtime not for knowledge sharing. There’s no clean way to search any of the history making it a useless resource for troubleshooting. The fact that so many companies use it like a forum boggles my mind.

Thanks for the details about what happens in the Bondtech Discord, probably people are already going mental being hyped and impatient of the product. It takes a lot of time and some people really don't understand it. (Though I must admin I was expecting to get INDX faster...apparently the progress is way slower and less advanced that I thought it is)

I recommend silencing the channel and asking mods to make important messages as pinned, should save a lot of time instead if searching.

If you hop on there now, there is a thread about Prusa "stealing and/or taking credit" for the INDX. Previously there were a bunch of meme's about Florida. Guess it's time to mute it.

I am in the process of limiting discord servers, no need to add another 😉

For now the somewhat important news get into another discords by other people and it is enough, though I would say it intensified recently due to prusa videos about indx. Unfortunately the videos are short, and more about 'hey we do things' but it lacks details about the project schedule and so on. Also they show only indx head or other addons and nothing else.

I think the mechanical part is on track, but firmware and software progress is totally silent, which bothers me it will slip on schedule and we will see the working setup on Formnext 2026... I hope I am wrong and we will get things faster.

For now I sit and wait.

I deleted my Discord account again right away. I had not expected that Bondtech chat to be as hectic and pointless as the real-time stuff one sometimes sees during Youtube live streams. Are there Discord communities/channels/whatever which are more serious and useful, or are they all like that?

Regarding the "waiting for INDX" theme in general, I remain skeptical about the software. INDX will require major firmware changes and is meant to be supported by PrusaSlicer 3.0, right? And we have not seen a single update on the software.

Personally I did not expect my INDX kit to be shipped on March 31st anyway. On the FormNext launch day it took me a while to summon the courage to be an early adopter again, so I am somewhere in the second half of the preorders. Hence I am happy to give Prusa and Bondtech an extra month or two to get the software under control, as long as they can then ship all 1500 kits quickly. 😊

It depends, surely there are a more steady and docused communities, and there are places where there is a flood of crap

There was just a screenshot on the video from the end of the October 2025 on special show for the people on the 3d print community, not.much else. I suspect there is a lot of changes that are under NDA and people can't talk about it.

Regarding the Kit, frankly speaking that was hyped more like a Kickstarter or Crowdfunding mode. Expect more waiting and you already paid for being beta tester... It's kind of preorders in the game industry...
