Simple on/off switch for the chamber light?

Turning the light on or off requires a deep dive into the settings menu. I feel this really should be a simple, no fuss "one touch" operation. I only need the light if/when I want to take a look how things are going, but otherwise it can (should) be off.

Any thoughts on adding a switch? Have others done this already?

Can't you simply set Chamber light dimming to "always" and the Dimmed intensity to "off"? Then the lights will automatically turn off a few seconds after the most recent user interaction, whether the Core One is printing or idle. To turn them back on for a bit, move the encoder or touch the display .

That sounds like a good solution. However, I don't see a setting for "Dimmed Intensity".

Sorry, I did not get the wording quite right. It's Settings > User Interface > Lights Settings > Chamber Lights Dimmed in my Core One (non-L). I trust it's the same in the large model?

there is a known bug with a dimming, that it reverts to the brightness after some time.

See my GitHub and printables.com for some 3d stuff that you may like.

You mean it reverts to full brightness without user interaction? I have never observed that -- whenever I come back to check on an ongoing print or the printer sitting idle, it is dimmed. After what time, roughly, would the full brightness come back? Do you have a Github link? Thanks!

Ah, ok. So when you select the lights to be off, but leave automatic dimming active and set your "dimming" light level to something higher than "off", the lights will actually come back on (at the reduced brightness) after the dimming timeout has been reached. That's a bit awkward, but easily avoided by either setting the dimming level to "off", or disabling the timeout-based dimming entirely.
