Filament broken just below extruder gear
Hi there,
I had some PLA break off just below the extruder gear. There is not enough to pull back out with pliers, and I have tried to heat the nozzle to 250C and push it through with a small allen wrench with no luck. Any other suggestions? Thanks!
RE: Filament broken just below extruder gear
1) remove the nozzle from extruder
2) push the filament with another piece of filament down to the nozzle tip or use tools like Creality Clog Poke (search for it)
3) when the broken part is pushed down -> install nozzle again
4) load a high temp filament or a cleaning filament using it with a high nozzle temp
5) the broken part should come out
6) load printing filament when you have done above routine with cleaning filament
...should work as it does for me when I have such situations...
Don't try to use a heat gun or whatever you see on the internet to warm up the lower section of the nozzle. I did it once, ruined my nozzle, now doing above routine and it works.
Anyway, keep your filament dry and do not overdry it also, as this may break the polymer on molecular level...
